Airborne Clean Energy Announces a New Advisory Board

Murray Mortson P.Eng.  Airborne Clean Energy’s Chief Operating Officer is pleased to announce the formation of the Airborne Clean Energy’s Advisory Board; consisting of Mr. Wayne Mortensen, Dennis Johnson, P.Eng., MBA and Dr. David Lewin, P.Eng. These advisory board members are among the leading experts in the industry of pollution control and sodium bicarbonate production.

“We at Airborne are very excited. All three members of our advisory board are very experienced in their area of expertise”, says Mr. Mortson. “I’m look forward to working with Dennis, David and Wayne to help Airborne commercialize their technology world wide”.

Mr. Wayne Mortensen,      Mr. Mortensen, an engineer, has 45 years experience in all aspects of sodium bicarbonate and sodium carbonate production facilities.  He has worked his entire life in this industry with such notable companies as Church & Dwight Inc. (17 years) as both a project and a plant manager, and Solvay (8 years) as the site executive responsible for all engineering and construction of facilities.  Mr. Mortensen has conducted or directed over 40 technical studies in his field. Mr. Mortensen has produced sodium bicarbonate with the Solvay method, the Trona method, and the Airborne system making his qualifications unique in history. 

Mr. Dennis Johnson, P.Eng., MBA                               
Dennis is one of the nation’s top specialists in Flue Gas Desulfurization. Dennis has 50 U.S. patents in the industry, several international patents, and several patents pending. He authored or coauthored more than 20 technical publications and wrote the Environmental Measurement chapter in the 40th edition of Steam. As manager of Design Engineering for the Babcock and Wilcox organization, Dennis was involved in all the R&D on environmental products and every demonstration plant B&W undertook in the 80's and early 90's. Dennis is an expert on many relevant subjects including sodium scrubbing, sorbent injection, NOx and SOx reduction, condensing heat exchangers, air toxics, and particulate removal. Dennis is a graduate of Kansas State University with a B.S Chemical engineering, has an MBA through Baldwin Wallace College and is a registered Project Management Professional.  Dennis has numerous contacts in the power generation and coal industries due to his many years of experience and his senior role with the Fluor Power Group.

Dr. David Lewin, P.Eng.               

David is one of Canada’s top specialists in Flue Gas cleanup. He is a senior VP of Epcor, and was responsible for their landmark Genesis project. Dr. Lewin is the Chairman of the Canadian Clean Coal Power Coalition.
